As
a Taiwanese computer maker, Acer has proven its integrity to its consumer
through its effort of developing the quality of its products of tablets,
notebooks, etc. In an event held on Friday in New York, Acer recently launched
the new touch-based notebooks and tablet named Aspire R7 notebook, Aspire P3
Ultrabook, and the Acer Iconia A1 tablet.
The
Aspire R7 notebook features a 15.6 inch touch screen and a switch that allows
users to rotate and flip the screen as the position needed to convert it in
tablet. The company’s new design configured the keyboard closer to the edge of
the lower tray and switched the trackpad closer to the screen. Thus, you will
be in ease to use the touch screen. The Aspire R7 notebook costs $1,000 and
this product will be in stores by the middle of May with an exclusive U.S
partnership with Best Buy.
Besides
the Aspire R7 notebook, Acer unveiled the Acer Aspire P3 ultrabook which can be
converted into a tablet, as well as the Acer Iconia Android tablet with 7.9
inch touch-based screen that will be retailed starting off by June with the
price offered $169. The P3 is now available with the price of $800.
In the event, Acer CEO JT Wang said, "Users
will have the opportunity to enjoy a totally different experience through those
devices". The Taiwan-based computer maker said about the products during
the event held in Milk Studios in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood, with their
tag line “redefining the computing experience through touch”.
As we know, nowadays the entire PC market is
growing slower, but Acer has experienced even more than most of its rivals.
Acer ever lost its big bet on Netbook, which has caused to steep shipment
declines in recent time. The first-quarter global PC shipments of Acer dropped
until 31 percent than the previous year. The company has been betting their
popularity by producing low-priced, touch-based Windows 8 devices to boost the
results, as well as the company’s tablets running other operating systems such
as the Android.
The new notebooks and tablet by Acer seem like a
flogging to its rivals since there are still a few companies who dare to develop
their products into what Acer does.
