Is it the best smartphone deal offered?
Rarely talk over smartphone? Don’t
like the idea of some providers offer? And don’t want to pay a lot of money per
month but still want to have plenty of data? T-Mobile has the plan that you
might have been waiting for, if you know where to find the plan.
T-Mobile has a plan that offers
5GB of 4G data, unlimited SMS, and 100 minutes of talk time, for only $30 per
month you can have all of those services. According to CNET’S report, this is
the cheapest prepaid plan from any of the major U.S carriers. While some plans
that have been made by other providers as well as Verizon’s pay-as-you-go which
starts at $60 for only 500MB of data, $70 to get you to 2GB, the ST&T’s
prepaid plan that includes 1GB of data with the price of $65 per month, and
Sprint’s pay-as-you-go-plan which offers unlimited data with the price of $70,
T-Mobile has a breakthrough with its newest plan of smartphone services.
Regarding to the plan made by
T-Mobile, it is not listed on its official web site, it is not because the
search was not completely done, but according to CNET’s reporter, a few weeks
ago after getting the news of T-Mobile’s plan, the reporter tried to check it
on T-Mobile’s “Bring Your Own Phone” page but he got no prepaid option there.
If you do a search for T-Mobile’s prepaid plan, you will be redirected to its
prepaid site. The home page of the site shows you the impression that plans
begin at $50 per month for 500MB of 4G data. Even so, if you check for the page
listing all prepaid plans, then scroll down to the bottom; you will discover
the magical $30 option.
On the site, if you want to use
the plan as your smartphone data services, you have to either order a SIM card
for your phone, which will cost $10, or buy a new phone instead. You will also
find a small notation if the plan is prevailed only for new activation.
However, the speed of T-Mobile’s
plan is fairly decent, and if your device is Nexus 4, this plan can be used to
share connection with your laptop and it can work fine. When we come back to
the term of “new activation only”, this could mean that you cannot switch to
this plan from anything you’re on now, it might also mean that if you want to
activate a new line of service, T-Mobile might not let you port your previous
number to the new line.
I think there are many different
smartphone plans that could fit to your needs. Whether the T-Mobile is good or
not, we cannot generally make the conclusion as it has a plus on its connection
service and also cheap price, while other weaknesses still found.

Recently Inq Mobile has announces
an application that offers more social-media services than Facebook Home, but
it is closely to Facebook Home in the operation. The application that has been
launches by Inq Mobile was SO.HO. The company wants to be the first thing you
see while picking up your Android device by replacing the role of your launcher
that is usually appear as well as TouchWiz, HTC Sense, stock, and so on. Not
only offering easy access to check Facebook updates, SO.HO comes to let you see
updates also from Twitter and Instagram.
Using SO.HO on your Android
smartphone will ease you to see notifications from Facebook, Twitter and
Instagram in one screen, and then you can check one by one of them right away.
To get started using the application, you will need to install the most recent
version of SO.HO, on your Android. After that, connect the social media
accounts you want to see the updates from. Once you have finished the step, you
can simply switch social media accounts from the top left-hand corner menu.
The format for social media feeds
is comfortable on the eyes, and it includes in-line images so that you do not
have to open any other application to view them. If you used to apply a
manufacturer launcher, you may feel if the quick launch icons along the bottom

things included in the application.
If you are intended to make SO.HO
as the first thing you see when you click on the Home button, it is important
to make sure that you select the application as default when you are given the
option. If not, you can still benefit it as a standalone application to access
all three services at once.
According to the information
given by the owner, Inq Mobile, SO.HO application is still in beta and the
company will be adding more of its users’ favorite social networks in the

Learn languages with Duolingo on Android
Most of procrastinators say if
learning languages drains more time and spends certain costs. That statement is
just a reason since the latest technology has been making our life easier. Let’s
say some applications which help us learn languages completely simple, they’re
such a reflection how easy our life is. Similar to Babbel for mobile and
Rosetta Course – samples of language learning applications – Duolingo comes to
enter the ring and it has a lot of promise.
Duolingo is a language learning
application that turns learning a language into a game, more than the other
applications do. Once you launch this application, you are given a few hearts
that represent your health pool that you do not want to lose during learning
each level. Hearts can be lost if you answer the questions incorrectly. After
finishing a lesson with hearts remaining, you will get an achievement to track
your progress in the application.
To use this application, you just
need to install a free copy of Duolingo for your Android device. This
application is quite easy to manage, if you already have an account of Google+
or Facebook, or other social networks account, you can simply login using one
of the account. But do not forget to make sure to check out the privacy
settings on both of these social media options before you tap OK.
Duolingo currently has relatively
limited language choice bit it is still sufficient if you are trying to learn
one of the more popular languages but the Chinese language is still missing.
You may opt for Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, or Italian. Besides that,
Duolingo offers English translation to all of languages served except German.
While this application compared
to the previous language learning application named Rosetta Course, the methods
of Duolingo app is pretty similar to Rosetta Stone’s. In this application you
are instructed to pick the picture that matches the words mentioned at the top
of the screen. Duolingo requires a little bit more interaction while checking
your answer than the other applications. As a bonus, this application offers
some more practical exercises for learning the words, spelling and associated
grammar.
Overall, Duolingo offers more
features than other language learning applications have. Whether the method
used is better or not, it actually depends on the student who uses the
application. What do you think about this application?

Analog Camera – Quick in photo sharing but limited
All this time, we have acquainted
with photo sharing application as well as the Instagram. But do you know if
there is a quick photo sharing application named Analog Camera? If you feel it’s
still strange to you, then let me explain through this blog post.
Analog Camera is a simple photo
editor coming from RealMac software (the same folks who ever made the
to-do-list application, Clear). Similar to Clear, the application has a
minimalist design and intuitive controls that ease you to do photo sharing job
quicker and easier.
Like other applications, the
Analog Camera surely has the good and the bad side. This application is known
and seeded to be an excellent photo sharing application for its capability of
turning the sharing photos activity into an easy three-step process. The
intuitive interface only requires swipe gestures to navigate the application.
On the other hand, this application does not have basic fine-tuning controls
that are usually found in another photo sharing application. Instead, in Analog
Camera, you won’t see brightness, contrast, or saturation control.
Generally, Analog Camera is not a
full-featured photo editor in the same pitch as applications like KitCam or
PhotoToaster. This application only offers a couple of features which favor
convenience and quick sharing. Once you launch this application, you will immediately
find the viewfinder that will let you take a photo right away. On the top of
this application, you will see thumbnails of your picture library which needs a
downward swipe to see the picture, also, you will find the image in square
form, so there is no need for landscape shots in this application.
Apart from the bad side of the
application features, Analog Camera has nine filters that let you touch to see
how each filter affects your photo look. The filters are not incredibly
exciting but at least they are serviceable for quick photo sharing. Anytime you
want to take another picture or grab one from your picture library, you can do
a simple swipe down cancels the current project so you can start fresh.
Through Analog Camera for iOS,
you can post photos to Facebook or Twitter with message attached along them. You
also have the option to save the image to your camera roll, send photos via
e-mail, or open it for further editing steps. Besides that, Analog Camera has better
photo editors available although this could not be easier for quickly shooting
a photo, sending it out in a minute or less, and slapping on a filter. In other
words, this application has swipeable interface that makes sharing photos a
snap and to add too much more might only slow the process.
The bottom line is the Analog
Camera is good just the way it does. It will ease you in snapping photos
quickly, adding filters and sharing. While if you need tons of frames, filters,
and sliders to fine-tune your photos, you have to go look for elsewhere.

Sinofsky (former Windows boss) feels glad to know Windows 8 sales
Steven Sinofsky said if it is too
early to determine the winners and losers in PC industry since it evolves with
new form factors. The former boss of Windows sees if Windows 8 is just doing
fine, despite analyst reports that PC sales have declined, in part; it is
because of tepid consumer interest to the 7-month-old operating system. Sinofsky
revealed “It’s hard for me to look at selling 100 million of something and not
be happy” at the D11 conference held on Thursday.
It can be said if the Windows 8 sale,
since it has been launched, has reached the number of 100 million licenses.
When asked why those Windows sales still have not regained PC sales overall, it
is suspected to be Sinofsky suggested patience. The leader said if it would
take a long time to make things play out and when it is going, you have to
resist the urge to pick winners and losers.
At the earlier today, Microsoft started
to shift course a bit with the OS. It came up with a series of new functions
and features for Windows 8 which will be coming up in an update later this
year, and of course some shortcomings of the operating system will be
announced.
If we go back to talk about the
Windows 8.1, we will probably know if the biggest reset of Windows 8.1 will be
called as “Start tip” which refers to something of a half-step toward taking
back the Start button that has been wanted by many critics. While clicking on the
Start tip, it won’t take you to the familiar Start menu found in the previous
version of Windows; instead, it will take users to the PC’S start screen to be
customized if you want.
When being interviewed, Sinofsky
did not talk about the Windows update so much. He talked more about software
development and some of the challenges of innovating in a large organization
nowadays.
"It's
really just a classic Microsoft challenge -- you have all these people, and you
want to align them," Sinofsky said, according to a live blog of the event by The Verge.
"It's a management challenge, there's no shortage of ideas. You have to
get them all on the same path.” He also did not declare about his departure
from Microsoft corp., just a few weeks after the Windows 8 launched.
At d11
conference, Steven Sinofsky stated if his exit from Microsoft corp. was truly
his choice. He is now teaching at Harvard Business School and sure about what
he is doing and what he will do next. He also added if he compare his life
while in sabbatical and his life now, he realized if he learned by writing and
teaching.
HTC could release 5.9-inch phablet later this year
A number of sources report that
HTC is going to release a huge 5.9-inch smartphone in the second half of the
year. The handset will be larger and more powerful. The Taiwanese analyst,
Laura Chen said if this fall should be more convenient and sophisticated.
Are you a big fan of HTC devices?
If yes, then you have to read this!
Apart from the ultra large screen
size, other details tipped for the device is an upgraded processor, though the
specific is still unclear. If we consider the HTC’s history of making cooperation
with Qualcomm, we can infer that Qualicomm’s Snapdragon 800 chipset could power
the phablet.
Fertile handset tipster @evleaks
has also seemingly collected evidence that HTC is now trying large, pointing to
a forthcoming HTC devices with the codename T6. Considering that rumor pans
out, HTC phablet could boast a screen size similar to Samsung’s much-anticipated
Galaxy Note 3.
Newly unveiled details for HTC’s
new phablet T6 include 2GB RAM, a quad-core 2.3 GHz processor, a 5.9-inch 1080p
HD display, 16GB internal storage and a rear camera that uses the same
ultrapixel image processing like the HTC One has. T6 also powered by Android
Key Lime Pie, the device may feature a large 3,300mAh battery, a digital
stylus, and something we have not seen from an HTC phone in some time, it’s the
microSD expansion slot.
Amid the finer points of T6,
TheUnlockr media reported an updated version of Sense UI with a more
customizable Blinkfeed experience. HTC is also issued to be cooperating on a
protective case with an additional 1,250 mAh battery life. The earlier HTC rumors
are reinforced with the analyst’s statement, Chen, who said that HTC plans to
introduce an M4 smartphone in June that should be offered on a global market. Coming
to the third quarter, HTC must be ready to announce an updated take on the
Butterfly device.
Peeping at the near term, Laura
Chen suggests that many things seem to be on the upswing to HTC, stating that “the
worst is over” for the handset maker. After the HTC One has been launched,
through a slow start, the company has successfully sold five million units.
The question is, could the new
HTC phablet surprise and grab people’s attention in the global market? Let’s
wait and see how the handset marketing will be going.

New Windows 8.1, it’s a half-step toward a Start button
New features and functions will
be available soon on Windows 8.1 since Microsoft is in the process of
developing the 7-month-old operating system called Windows 8. Something new
that the company wants to pursue on its new Windows 8.1 is the insiders called “Start
tip” that gets users back to their PC Start screen. It means that Microsoft
will not be bringing back the Start button as many users have been requesting.
Microsoft actually has endorsed
some of its users have been requesting. The company informed on May 30 that
Microsoft will introduce something that a person close to Windows engineering
is calling a “Start tip” that lets users to go back to the Start screen in
Windows 8.1. The “tip” has a purpose as a Windows logo which sits on the left
hand side of the toolbar when Windows 8 users are working in the conventional
desktop mode. If they are using the touch-focused tile-based interface, users
will have to hover over the lower left corner of the tip to pop up.
The “tip” feature on Windows won’t
launch the familiar menus like the previous version did. Instead, it will take
users to their start Screen. By using Windows 8.1, users are allowed to customize
that Start screen to replicate something close to the old Start menus, listing
all applications that are available to them if they want. It has not been
indicated whether the Start tip will be enough to quite critics who are claiming
for the ease of use that comes with familiarity. The start tip is closely a
half-step toward a Start button.
Besides the Start tip, Microsoft
also plans to make several changes and updates to Windows 8 including:
- Adding new editing features to its Photos application that comes with Windows 8.1, offering the ability to edit snaps when read in the applications. The Music application has been completely redesigned though Microsoft has not offered the details about its new look
- Updating the Windows Store where users can get applications, in order to show more information. The listings served will be more descriptive, and will include related applications
- Binding Windows more closely to its Web storage service, SkyDrive. In Windows 8.1, files can be saved straight away to SkyDrive, but users can still access the files when they are not online
- Baking the upcoming Internet Explorer 11 into Windows 8.1, it’s something that has been rumored. Users will be capable of having as many open tabs as they want, and they can adjust the appearance of the browser to always show the address bar
If you are curious about the
Windows 8.1, a preview version may help you fill the curiosity that will come
out at the time of Microsoft’s Build developer conference at the end of June,
and Microsoft says Windows 8.1 will arrive for its users later this year.

‘Home’ is where the whole phone’s features are
It has been
around six years since the emersion of the smartphone revolution and whether we
realize it or not, we have been a part of the evolution itself. However,
sometimes we might think if ‘home’ is where the phone is. If we ever come to
this statement, we can be categorized as people who can be called as The
Immersives: keeping tabs on Facebook ‘friends’, checking e-mail, debating on
Twitter , snapping pictures of food to upload on to Instagram. It would be so
rare if any of us did not have at least one toe dipped in the stream.
We are all just “The
Immersives” sometime. You may see this since people keep doing to bury their
face in the small screen while walking, or take them in danger by blindly read
a message while driving. It seems like we cannot live without the phones as we
need a meal in every single day.
Immersives are
actually the targeted audience for Facebook home, a new version of the social
network’s application that was announced. ‘Home’ feature is the first page you see
when you pick up the phone. It is a major release that utters the extent to
which Facebook needs us to stay imersives to help it get its bottom line. The
major technological question is: Who is in control – our phones, or us?
Facebook is the
flag bearer of the prior stage. In a press event held last month, Facebook’s
CEO Mark Zuckeberg searched to position this ‘Home’ application as a
breakthrough for “us”. He revealed of Smartphones are designed around phone applications
not people. People have little control on any platform of what their phone
serves up for them whenever they pull it out of their pockets.
Facebook Home is
probably the first of what Wired’s Steven Levy has already coined as the super
application since it is always on, always current, and it appears as the first
thing you see whenever you access Facebook. The super applications come with an
easy way, if you are immersed in one thing more than others, let’s say we use
Facebook almost a quarter of our time using smartphones, then why should not
your phone give you the option to put that application on a virtual lining.
Facebook’s trick
for this valuable real estate is a slick move. Yup, advertisements are coming
but it comes as a bit of smartphone fatigue has already started to set in. It
ups the stake from an earlier game by Microsoft to open the lock screen to user
customization.
Google plans to build wireless networks in emerging markets
According to the
latest report of The Wall Street Journal, Google is issued for its plan to go
into the cellular business. The company is looking to build cellular networks
and offer service to emerging markets as well as Southeast Asia and sub-Saharan
Africa. Writing anonymous sources, WSJ unveiled that the networks would be
available outside of big cities, where the service is spotty or not available
yet. For this plan, Google is reportedly working with local companies on a
possible deployment and making strategy of the business models to support the
networks.
Besides that,
Google is also targeting to build low-cost phones using its Android operating
system, consider a satellite-based wireless system which is also new, and test
the use of different types of wireless frequencies. This news was stated by
WSJ. Google seems to look at different technology fields and possible
deployments, and it may use a combination to deliver wireless services to the
folks.
By the long
Google’s lunge these several years, Google aims to make everyone around the
world connected to a high-speed wireless service, and the company wants people
around the world will use all of its services. The wireless network initiated
by Google is just another development of the fiber-optic deployments that
Google has made in selected city in the U.S.
Emerging markets
do need to build physical fiber networks to deliver internet service for their
own. Most of overseas countries which do not have an established landline
infrastructure prefer to skip it entirely and put their focus on the mobile
networks improvement that are easier and less costly to spread.
The Google’s
plan to build wireless networks in emerging markets seems to be a continued
evolution of Google from a simple online search engine to a company that
develops phones through its Motorola unit, offers software as well as Android
and Chrome, makes hardware such as the Chromebook, build next-gen tech such as
Google Glass, and serves the internet services Google Fiber.
It’s all okay to
follow the journey of the giant tech company since Google works to increase
people’s intention to use and benefit its sophisticated products and innovation
that will ease them too.

How Tumblr ‘screw up’ Yahoo
Tumblr’s
popularity nowadays is getting more reputable. Found as a social network,
Tumblr is planned to be turned into a profitable company. Actually, turning
Tumblr into profitable company is such a daunting task for Yahoo, but the fact
says it’s far from the point.
On a blog post
written by Marissa Mayer, she said if the Yahoo’s deal for Tumblr with the
amount of $1.1 billion does not mean to screw it up. She’s talking about Tumblr
on her blog post, but if people are scrupulous, Mayer’s statement was only her
smart way to invert what she must be hoping Tumblr becomes for Yahoo: a threat
to its older, established, classified culture which has been short on
innovation, creativity and user-focused design for these long years.
On the other
hand, Tumblr itself will be far from getting screwed up since it gets used to
its new home under Yahoo. Tumblr is seemingly to have a bright future because
something likes a design lab and an already-functioned charter city under the
supervision of the Yahoo brand.
When Marissa
Mayer worked at Google and led all product management and design efforts, she
popularly relied on data about users’ behavior to inform her strategy choices
for Google’s products. At that time, some crews argued that her strategy of
choosing one shade of blue over another, made users fractionally more likely to
click was not really design.
Talking about
Yahoo-Tumblr deal, it is not about two technology companies linked up to share
both strengths. It’s more likely about two different ways of doing business
being pitted against each other to do a battle of meeting and boardrooms which
is now controlled by Mayer and her trusted deputies.
Whether the existing
Yahoo eventually will have to learn the Tumblr’s success as a part of the new
landscape of successful online properties, someone else (or Ms. Mayer) will
have a task to take Yahoo ever further than it’s now and strip the company down
to the studs in order to rebuild Yahoo for a new digital world.

Google seeks to get more women in tech
Focusing on
problem solving field, Google has been standing as a strongly integrated
company in the world. It has untold amounts of computing power at its disposal
working away to try and solve many big problems. An issue that arises along
this company’s lunge is that the company is currently addressing a quest to
increase the number of female computer engineers.
Google’s
co-founder, Larry Page said that Google had been focused on recruiting more
women to ensure that the company did not end up with all male workers. "The only answer is, we have to start early and make
sure we get more women and girls excited in technology. There's no question we
will double the rate of progress", Page added.
The giant company
has a number of year-round initiatives which aims to hire and educate more
women to be programmers; the program includes scholarships and events. The
annual event developers’ conference offers a rare public, visual example of the
industry’s gender gap and the company’s progress. In the past, the amount of
women who became attendees and speakers was low. But since the conference held
in 2008, Google started to working to shift the numbers. Based on Google’s Vice
President, Megan Smith stated if this year, there is an increasing number of
women who join the tech after the last conference.
Megan Smith, who works at Google, Google's semi-secretive experimental
wing that works on futuristic projects and prototypes said, "It’s been a
priority from the beginning ... the visibly of technical women is something we
really want to work on."
First they held a
concerted effort to find talented women in the field of expertise from around
the worldwide to be invited to the conference. “We felt like there were
incredible technical women who should be at I/O, who for whatever reason
weren't there. We did a lot of work to just make sure that we were increasing
the presence of women leaders on the stage and in demos", Megan Smith
added.
Google’s
program to increase the amount of women programmers is a smart way to improve
women’s skills which are not only limited in certain fields but can also be
expanded to the technology field. Thus, young women nowadays can be very interested
in having an impact to the world’s progress.
Kinect for Windows sensor in 2014
Xbox
One seems to be a new inspiring technology for Microsoft to build the new
Kinect for Windows sensor. The company will finally deliver a Kinect sensor
which works similar to the sensor found in Xbox One. Microsoft has just
announced on Thursday that the Kinect for Windows sensor will use the same
technologies key to the new Kinect sensor for Xbox One. Both of these
technologies will allow people to pull out commands using voice and gestures.
The
Kinect sensor will have a high-definition color camera and a noise-isolating
multi-microphone array. It will also feature a part which will be a technology
called Time-of-Flight, that measures how long it would take for photons to
bounce off an object. A plus, these features guarantee greater accuracy and
precision while detecting your voice commands and body movements.
Similar
to Xbox One counterpart, the Kinect for Windows sensor will be able to pinpoint
more body parts, providing more accurate skeletal tracking. Kinect’s sensor
will also use a greater field of view to handle a variety of room sizes. This
sensor equipped with a new infrared feature that will help the sensor work
better, especially in the dark conditions.
The
launch of Kinect for Windows sensor might be something waited, since the Kinect
for Windows sensor’s launch and the corresponding software development kit
means that developers will be capable of creating applications that can take advantage
of the features.
On a blog
post issued on Thursday, Microsoft stated, “We're continuing our commitment to equipping businesses and
organizations with the latest natural technology from Microsoft so that they,
in turn, can develop and deploy innovative touch-free applications for their
businesses and customers. A new Kinect for Windows sensor and software
development kit (SDK) is a core to that commitment." This smart technology could be another bridging step to the other more sophisticated technologies that the Microsoft will be developing.

Twitter brings out log-in security after hacks
As
we know, there have been a lot of hacks happened to social media users
including Twitter. After a long series of embarrassing hacks, finally, Twitter
rolled out a new two-step login to help its users prevent unwanted interferences.
The two-step login is a verification system which will be optional for users to
fill a phone number registration field, e-mail account and six-digit code that
would have to be entered, via text message, each time they log in to the site.
Jim
O’Leary, Twitter’s security team, said in a blog post “Every day, there is a
growing number of people log in to Twitter. Usually these login attempts come
from the genuine account owners, but we occasionally hear from the people whose
accounts have been compromised by email phishing schemes or a breach of
password data elsewhere on the web.”
The
new idea comes in the wake of repeated hacks to reputable Twitter accounts in
recent months. Last month, The Associated Press’ Twitter account was
jeopardized by someone who falsely made a tweet if there had been a bombing at
the White House. This case was the latest in a laundry list of media organizations
hacked in recent months. Amid them, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal,
Bloomberg News, Washington Post, “60 Minutes”, CBS, and “48 Hours”.
Another
soiled Twitter account case happened in 2011. Fox News saw its Twitter account was
compromised and used to send a fake message that President Obama had been
murdered. In February, Jeep and Burger King got a similar hack. And on the
beginning of 2013, Twitter itself was hacked, as the result, around 250,000
user names and e-mail addresses were exposed.
Most
cases of Twitter hacks happened to users whose accounts have easy-to-guess
password, been accessed via public Wi-Fi, or the users forgot to log out after
using their Twitter accounts. Accounts can also be accessed if a user loses her
or his phone while the Twitter account has not been logged out yet. Different
way used by hackers to their targeted high-profile victims. Hackers usually
send deceptive e-mails that encourage the victims to enter personal

YouTube app will be ready for Windows Phone 8
Microsoft and Google seem to have found a new idea in the
recent skirmish over YouTube on Windows Phone 8. Both of them announced this
idea on Friday, May 24th 2013 that they are going to build a new
version of a native YouTube app which will be available for Windows Phone 8. The
YouTube application is planned to be available in the Windows Store in few
weeks later.
According to CNET, yesterday they received a statement
written by Google and Microsoft that revealed if Microsoft and YouTube were
working together to update the new YouTube application for Windows Phone to
enable compliance with YouTube’s API terms of Service, in which the ads sustainability
was included in the coming weeks of YouTube application launching. Microsoft
said if it would replace the existing YouTube application in Windows Phone
Store with the previous version during the time of preparing the new one.
Meanwhile, when the two notable companies are developing the
new application, Microsoft is going to replace its Microsoft-developed YouTube
application that was released on May 8 and it was updated yesterday with the
older version, not so functional or good HTML version of the YouTube
application for Windows Phone.
Microsoft has been claiming that Google has been keeping the
access to APIs which is needed to create a truly functional YouTube application
for Windows Phone. This is what Google’s public API for mobile application
vendors wanting to be used in building YouTube mobile applications.
On the other hand, Google, for its part, has revealed if
Google intended to be the one developing any native YouTube applications for
mobile platforms. However, the users of mobile platforms Google who did not
support this plan, preferred to use Google’s mobile YouTube site. For this
reason, Google also made it clear if it planned not to launch many applications
for Windows 8 or Windows Phone 8, mentioning low market acceptance for the
platforms as the reason.
We do not know what will happen next, but as Windows mobile
users, you might impresses with both ideas since you can choose to using a
native YouTube application or YouTube’s mobile site.

New Tagging Feature available on Instagram
The
iOS or Android application, Instagram is now available with “Photos of You”
feature that allows you to tag people, things or brands in your photos.
Running
behind the lead of its social-network owner, on May 2, 2013 Instagram
introduced its new photo-tagging feature to let users tag people, things and
brands to the photo they upload and share through the service. The new feature
called “Photos of You”. This is remarkably the photo-sharing platform’s
colorful interpretation on tagging.
The
application users can tag any Instagram account onto their photos; it could be
a friend, cat or burger joint along with the photo while uploading. Those who
have been tagged in the photos will receive notifications and they have to
choose whether they want to publicy the photos on their own Instagram profiles
in a new section named “Photos of You”.
The company wrote in a blog post,” When
you upload a photo to Instagram, you're now able to add people as easily as you
add hash tags. Only you can add people to your photos, so you have control over
the images you share. And it doesn't stop at people -- you can add any account
on Instagram, whether it's your best friend, favorite coffee shop, or even that
adorable dog you follow”.
With the new feature of Instagram called as “Photos of You”
feature, the company gets a highly personal dimension since the feature turns Instagram
from the badge of photo-sharing service into more of a group activity.
Furthermore, Instagram expects that the Photos of You
feature can help it enrich the experience for its active brands that can also
give benefits from the new tags. Over the new Photos of You section, businesses
can now put their best face forward by using pictures captured by users of the
Instagram community.
Photos of You feature was available starting on
Thursday in the version 3.5 of Instagram’s applications for Android and iOS.
Get it on AppStore or Google Play Store.
Which ear you hold your cell phone may unveil your brain dominance
It has long been known if the right-handed people – who are
about 90 percent of the population – have left-hemisphere dominant brains, and
left-handed people the vice versa. But the division of making conclusion
actually is not that simple. Around 95 percent of right-handed people, the left
hemisphere almost handles language and the right emotion and image processing;
on the other hand, just around 20 percent of lefties experience such strict
division. This research is based to the result of some researchers at Henry
Ford Hospital in Detroit.
According to the report published in JAMA Otolaryngology-Head
& Neck Surgery, the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit’s researchers found if
most people who hold their cellphone to the right ear have left-hemisphere
dominance.
This report might make you wonder, then, who cares? The
researchers’ leader, Michael Seidman, director of the division of otologic and
neurotologic surgery in the Departent of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery
at Henry Ford Hospital, said if these findings actually have several
implications. The main of these findings is that it can help us better understanding
the language center of our brain. He added if establishing a correlation
between cerebral dominance and sidedness of cellphone use, it may be possible
to develop a less-invasive, lower-cost option to set the side of brain where
speech and language happens rather than the Wada Test, which refers to a
procedure that injects an anesthetic into the carotid artery to put part of the
brain to sleep to map activity.
What’s more? The findings also reveal that the cellphone use
may not be correlated to brain, head and neck tumors, knowing that nearly 80
percent of people who became the research subjects hold the cellphone to the
right ear and yet cancer does not appear more often on that side of the brain,
head, or neck.
A research done by Dr. Seidman before he looked into
cellphone handedness was that he noticed if most people use their right hand to
hold cellphone to their right ear. After that, the research team started to
send online survey to 5,000 people who were either patients undergoing Wada and
MRI for non-invasive localization or with an online otology group. The 90
percent of the respondents were righties with 9 percent lefties and 1 percent
ambidextrous.
Questions that were served at the survey including time spent
talking on cellphones, diagnoses of head or neck tumors, and hand dominance for
tasks such as writing. According to the survey, almost 70 percent of right-handed
respondents held the phone on their right ear, 25 percent to the left, and the
7 percent to either ear. Next, 72 percent of lefties used their left ears, 23
percent used their right ears and 5 percent had no preference.

As
a Taiwanese computer maker, Acer has proven its integrity to its consumer
through its effort of developing the quality of its products of tablets,
notebooks, etc. In an event held on Friday in New York, Acer recently launched
the new touch-based notebooks and tablet named Aspire R7 notebook, Aspire P3
Ultrabook, and the Acer Iconia A1 tablet.
The
Aspire R7 notebook features a 15.6 inch touch screen and a switch that allows
users to rotate and flip the screen as the position needed to convert it in
tablet. The company’s new design configured the keyboard closer to the edge of
the lower tray and switched the trackpad closer to the screen. Thus, you will
be in ease to use the touch screen. The Aspire R7 notebook costs $1,000 and
this product will be in stores by the middle of May with an exclusive U.S
partnership with Best Buy.
Besides

the event held in Milk Studios in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood, with their

As we know, nowadays the entire PC market is
growing slower, but Acer has experienced even more than most of its rivals.
Acer ever lost its big bet on Netbook, which has caused to steep shipment
declines in recent time. The first-quarter global PC shipments of Acer dropped
until 31 percent than the previous year. The company has been betting their
popularity by producing low-priced, touch-based Windows 8 devices to boost the
results, as well as the company’s tablets running other operating systems such
as the Android.
The new notebooks and tablet by Acer seem like a
flogging to its rivals since there are still a few companies who dare to develop
their products into what Acer does.
Android Key Lime Pie – The Next Google’s Android Version
The
world is seemingly now running behind Google’s Android operating system and the
company is now working hard to prove its integrity to provide the customers
with the latest version after the 4.1 version, Jelly Bean operating system. As
reported, the new version of Google’s Android operating system would be named
Android 4.2 Key Lime Pie that was spotted in its server logs. As luring as the
name of delicious food, the new operating system runs most wanted features.
Based
on the information by Google analyst, numerous smartphones and tablets with
this new updated version were used to access this website. Types of phone that were
tested with the new Android 4.2 were Nexus 7, Samsung Galaxy Y, Sony Xperia Arc
S, and Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
As
we know, the current Android operating system version is 4.1 Jelly Bean is
still being used by many phones and available in the global marker. But the
time seems running fast as Google now has introduced its new Android operating
system named Key Lime Pie to keep up its enthusiasts. Actually, the older
version of Jelly Bean, Ice Cream Sandwich is yet to be rolled out in many
Android devices imagining how awesome the next version would impress them.
The
Key Lime Pie is rumored to be the next version after the Jelly Bean but it may
stick with the Jelly Bean moniker. According to CNET’s review pertaining to the
new version Android 4.2 Key Lime Pie, there is a little of new software treats
the update has in store. Due to Android’s open nature, it has been many items
on our wish list can be achieved through enraged tinkering or installing
specific applications using Google Play.
Whether
this operating system will overwhelm people’s Android device or not, Google –brand
features that could ease the consumers to access more applications with more
conveniently is being awaited by folks.

Evernote Food 2.0 – saving recipes and finding new restaurants
Evernote Food’s original version has one menu item as well as
My Meals. In the latest version of Evernote Food, the menu item, My Meals does
not have to work alone anymore; the new sections such as Explore Recipes, My
Cookbook, and Restaurants have been added. Let me show you the new features!
If you are the type of person who likes to spend your spare
time by browsing recipes, the Evernote Food 2.0 may be a good friend for you.
Through this application, especially on the Explore Recipes menu, you can
browse over a huge selection as many as thousands recipes all over the Web. You
will find recipes from places you will likely recognize such as the
AllRecipes.com or Clean Eating.
Using My Cookbook will ease you so much more. Though this
menu, you can check any previous recipe you’ve saved though the application
along with those you clip on the Web. If you are about to save a recipe, you
are allowed to add tags and notes, so that you can easily find it later based
on its category tagged. Fortunately, Evernote and Evernote Food are linked each
other to let you an easy access to your saved food information.
The next menu is the Restaurants. This menu is a newly
surprising feature to the Evernote Food application. Using this menu, you can search
by the type of food you would like to eat or by the location of noted
restaurants. In this application, you are probably going to find better searching
results by typing the location than the type of food because some restaurants
may be miscategorized online if they do not manage a Web site or social network
account.
In the new version of Evernote Food 2.0, My Meals remains an
area for collection photos of the steps of making dishes or the finished
product along with notes you type.
For the whole function of this application’s features, they
do make a lot of sense. You can use several platforms for sharing images of
food which can also end up on Twitter and Instagram. The latest version of
Evernote Food 2.00 can be easily replaced with the previous Evernote if the new
one does not have other menus as well as Explore Recipes, My Cookbook, and the
Restaurants, apart from the My Meals category.

The Popularity of iPad Mini VS Regular iPad
The
arrival of iPad Mini among the gadget markets seemed like a trouncing for the
previous version of iPad. The Apple suppliers chain in the Asia admit if the
iPad Mini’s trends and shipments indicate that it is overwhelming the iPad in
popularity.
In
Apple’s second quarter on January to March, over 19.5 million iPads were sold out,
12.5 million amongst were the iPad Minis, and this information was an
estimation of Taipei-based Digitimes that cited sources. The publication defines
the number of shipments.
On
December, DisplaySearch expected Apple to sell 6 million iPad Minis in 2012 but
then upped to more than 12 million. All
of those sales would take place in Apple’s first quarter that ended on December
because the iPad Mini was not released for sale until November 2012.
If
we are scrupulous about the excellence of iPad Mini against the regular iPad,
we may find some reasons. First, the iPad Mini is augmented reality. It is said
so, because this gadget is a sophisticated technology that combine the virtual
objects with the real ones. But when it comes to decide which type of iPad
should be bought, the iPad Mini might overwhelm your mind by considering its
shape which is lighter and smaller than the regular iPad. The next reason is
that about the price offered by iPad Mini. For the smaller shape, the iPad Mini
becomes more popular than the regular iPad because it has a lower cost with
more convenient features.
David
Hsieh, the DisplaySearch analyst said, “It seems people especially like the
size. It is lighter, slimmer and easier to carry, referring to Mini’s 7.9-inch
display versus the iPad’s 9.7-inch screen.
The
iPad Mini’s popularity comes despite having a relatively low-resolution
non-Retina display and older silicon if compared with the iPad 4. Sameer Singh
at Tech-Thoughts put iPad Mini’s shipments at 12 million as the highest
estimation in the most recent quarter ending in March by estimating the lowest
possible number of shipment to be a little less than 9 million.
However,
both of the iPad Mini and regular iPad have their excellences to impress the
iPad seekers. Which one could impress you most?
